Keep pace with our new releases to always get the most out of the Exponea app. See our new features, updates to the existing ones, and things we’ve fixed.
Importing customer data that you’ve already tracked on other platforms just got easier, as we now support XML format for imports as well. This change is especially important for importing other platforms’ product catalogs, as these are most often stored as XML. Adding XML format support will speed up the integration phase while at the same time making it more secure.
Importing data from different storage locations provides a secure and convenient way to transfer data to Exponea automatically. To boost the adoption of this feature, we’re introducing a number of usability and flexibility improvements. Namely, reading only previously unprocessed files, and defining files to read with a variable date portion.
Sending too many emails to some customers can pester them and ruin your domain reputation. But too little communication with your loyal customers means missing out on revenue. Now you can easily set up rules to limit communication frequency for various customer segments, or use our Smart Newsletter Policy, which combines proprietary expert rules with AI, developed for achieving optimal results.
The only way you can effectively improve your email marketing is to understand how your customers interact with your emails. Email Click Heatmap provides a fast and visual way to understand where your customers are clicking in your emails (click rate, total clicks, unique clicks). Compared to evaluation by URL clicks, which is not really useful when the URL placed into email multiple times, Email Click Heatmaps track every individual link placement separately.
You will now be able to send messages to your WhatsApp users and receive their answers directly in Exponea. In addition, if your customer responds, you can also approach them with a WhatsApp Free Text Message for 24 hours since the response within 24 hours of their response.
There are situations when you want to send your campaign only to a specific number of customers, ensuring that your available resources can meet the demand (e.g. using a channel with a limited capacity, like a call center, or offering products with limited stock availability). Now you can use a new node in scenarios that limits the number of customers who can successfully go through that node. The limits are highly customizable using personalization.
Amazon S3 is one of the most popular cloud file storage services used to store and retrieve any amount of data from anywhere on the web. This integration enables data ingestion from almost any tech stack using Amazon S3 for data storage.
One of the most powerful use case categories is offering goods based on when they arrive in stock and how long they’ve been there. In order to accelerate the adoption of these use cases across our customer base, we are introducing an automatically added timestamp to each catalog item to indicate when it was last updated.
Exponea emails are empowered by data and AI, helping engagement and conversion. There are technical optimizations that can be used to further improve these metrics, namely shortening the links in emails. This will help you decrease the email size, thus preventing Gmail from clipping the message (clipping may significantly decrease email conversion).
Do not panic if your customer fails to be reached by your email campaign. The new event “invalid_contact” now displays the specific causes.
The visual email editor loading time has now been halved.
Doing multiple imports of the same category? Now, you will be to keep the process much more transparent by giving a custom name to each import.
Exponea has always allowed the customization of certain UTM campaign parameters – we are now extending this customization to any UTM parameter and even any other URL parameter, so you will be free to tweak links in campaigns as you need.
Starting January 2020, there will be a change in statuses of campaign events. Due to standardization, we will rename the enqueued and enqueue_failed statuses to sent and send_failed respectively.
Delivery failure statuses in emails will also be standardized, and statuses hard_bounced and soft_bounced will be used instead of current dropped and bounced status, to inherit the logic from the ESP and use conventional naming.
This will also introduce a change to all Mailgun integrations, that will start using mailgun’s new webhook routes (no user action required). This change will impact any analysis or customer filter in campaigns that is using the campaign events mentioned above. To change the filters to count both old and new naming, change the filters to include both statuses using IN selector.
Easily integrate Exponea with your Shopify or Shopify Plus store using our new plug and play integration. Replace dozens of Shopify plugins with a single integrated solution, allowing you to collect, analyze, and activate customer data in real-time.
Want to see important analytics from your email campaigns with just one click? A new email dashboard allows you to immediately see how successful an active campaign is.
Make it easier for your customers to engage with your mobile app. Now you can send links that will open directly in the app, instead of their browser.
Lead ads are the best option for lead generation campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. Combined with Exponea, they can boost your lead generation even more, thanks to capabilities like advanced customer segmentation or predictions. Now you can track all these Facebook Lead Ads form submits as events in your Exponea project.
Delete by filter enhances the current delete events functionality. If you tracked or imported a lot of defective data, now you can easily filter and delete only those with a specific event attribute or from a specific time period using the data-filter.
Mobile SDKs have been upgraded, resolving the issues with stability. Moreover, the tracking of push notifications has been significantly improved.
Customer properties are ingested from multiple systems and sometimes it is not clear whether the current version is the most up to date. This feature will ensure that we always have the most current version of customer properties.
With great power comes great responsibility. General consent may be a good servant but a bad master. Thanks to this setting, you can prevent accidents like sending a test e-mail to your entire customer base. Project administrators will be able to disable general consent for certain channels.
Do you find your scenario AB tests not fast enough? Their execution has now been rebuilt, resulting in much better performance. Note, however, that you will not be able to edit any variant that has already been visited by a customer.
The usage dashboard allows customers with our new pricing to monitor their monthly quotas in real-time. Whether it’s the number of sent e-mails, SMS messages, notifications, number of processed (tracked/imported) events or the number of stored events in IMF, the Usage Dashboards bring you transparency and a complete overview of your monthly consumption. You can find it in Overview > Exponea usage.
Project admins are now able to define an email list hygiene filter that will be evaluated before sending an email via scenario or email campaign. The goal is to avoid sending emails to customers who have been inactive for a longer time which led to hurting your domain reputation and therefore inbox placement. Feel free to use the default hygiene filter which was designed by our email deliverability specialists.
This new recommendation template allows you to pick the best products for category listing. For new visitors, it will suggest products based on a smart combination of the number of views, purchases and age of products, for your repeated customers it will personalize the selection based on affinity.
Successful recommendation use-cases rely on incoming data quality (catalogs/events), a working integration with the channel (web/email/other), and a good distribution of recommended products. This dashboard demonstrates whether a model is working as expected with a single glance, helping you find potential issues (such as a modified e-shop design breaking integration), or aiding you in improving the model settings.
A new recommendation model allowing you to offer alternative products that can help your customers with product discovery. This model relies on titles and descriptions of the items in the catalog and uses machine learning techniques to recognize the similarity of words like black and dark.
Do you use the same consent categories for multi-language audiences? Now, it becomes much more comfortable as you will be able to set up translations for the names of the consent categories used on the consent page. You can do it in ‘Project settings’ -> ‘Privacy management’ -> ‘Consents’
