Recommendations for Similar Products

Problem:

Customers are not seeing a selection of similar products along with the item they are specifically looking for.

Cause:

Client lacked a system for recommending and displaying alternative products.

Solution:

Implement “similar products” and the “customers also bought” recommendation models to show customers a range of additional products according to their specific situation.

Deliverables:

Two recommendation models were created and used:

• “Similar products” recommendation template uses content-based model (based on selected attributes of products)
• “Customers also bought” model was based on collaborative filtering (Oryx)
