We are Exponea, an internationally renowned e-commerce cloud – a tool for in-depth analysis and marketing automation for businesses. We work with global e-commerce leaders and other top companies from all over the globe.


Currently expanding our frontend team, we’re looking for new a colleague as CSS architect. Could you be one of them?

Our team:

Our frontend team is currently a group of twelve talented people. We cooperate tightly with our UX team and our product team in order to implement new features and improve existing ones. We love what we do but we struggle with keeping the look of the application consistent and making changes to styles manageable.


We have formed a team of stylers within our own ranks with a mission to build a component and layout library that provides reusable building blocks for our application to simplify the development process of new features. What we expect from this library is to provide reliable components that look and behave consistently in any context they may appear in.

Are you the one we need to make this happen?


  • Can you create a styling framework using SASS that remains maintainable as the application grows?
  • Can you imagine managing and more importantly mentoring a small group of fellow co-stylers?
  • Are your styles pixel perfect?
  • Are your animations smooth?
  • Do you have an eye for style imperfections and can you solve these proactively?
  • Do you know or would you be interested in learning front end application development using the latest Angular framework?


Tech stack

Must have:

  • CSS (all selector types, selector specificity, fonts, relative units, box sizing, block/inline layout, float layout, flexbox, grid layout, responsive, pseudo elements, animations, performance)
  • SCSS
  • Browsers: cross-browser support, DOM inspector, high density displays
  • HTML5
  • SVG

Nice to have:

  • GIT
  • LESS
  • Angular: in particular to understand its templating syntax (we are using Angular 6).


What challenges will you face during your first three months:


  • Get to know and improve our current approach to styling – We would like you to take a look at how we currently write styles here at Exponea. You should be able to identify strengths and weaknesses of our approach and present a long term plan on how to work with styles.
  • Take part in implementation of a new feature in application – Our goal is to be able to create new features quickly and effectively by using reusable components. We are not quite there yet. Many screen designs require us to implement new components with multiple graphical variations. You and your team would be responsible for their implementation.
  • Rewrite styles for an existing component – UX updates happen in our company often and we consider this a good thing. Your job would be to improve styles according to the new UI designs, while making sure these changes introduce no side effects.
  • Take responsibility for the stylers backlog – You should manage your team’s own backlog of tasks and bugs that need stylers’ attention. These may include UX updates that need to be implemented, production bugs, various improvements but also maintenance tasks and minimizing technical dept. It would be your responsibility to prioritize these tasks and to complete them together with your team.
