I’m really excited to announce that Exponea has been acquired by Bloomreach, the leader in commerce experience. Bloomreach powers more than 25% of the western world’s commerce with its search, merchandising, and content management products.
Why Bloomreach? In simple terms, no one has better data about products than Bloomreach. Along those same lines, no one has better data on customers than Exponea. Putting these two companies together creates the complete package. The combination of Bloomreach and Exponea will offer the world’s first completely-integrated commerce and marketing experience.
Excited is probably an understatement, because this is a win-win-win-win-win outcome. Why so many wins? Let’s review them one by one.
For our team, this is a great outcome because it is becoming an important part of a soon-to-be unicorn with a similarly strong focus on culture. Unlike being acquired by one of the big corporations, the partnership with Bloomreach offers Exponeans an opportunity to shape their future, make meaningful contributions, and continue on their innovative, entrepreneurial growth path. All teams are staying, everyone will be offered stock options in the combined company, and the key challenge ahead is how to grow further while fostering the strong product and customer-centric culture.
If Exponea was acquired by one of the big clouds (which was an option), everyone knows what comes next. An increase in pricing, worsening of service, departure of many of the top people, and so on. In contrast, this acquisition is focused on growth, innovation, and long-term value creation. Our goal is to further improve what Exponea has always been good at – enabling magical customer experiences and delivering maximum value incredibly fast. We will also retain and further enhance our leadership in the field of privacy, security, and compliance.

We will continue to innovate (see our product roadmap for 2021) our CDXP product. But what customers should be most excited about is that we are already starting to work on enabling absolutely unique new use cases by combining the product-centric world of Bloomreach with the customer-centric world of Exponea. This will infinitely improve customer experiences. We will be revealing more in the near future.
The two companies seem as if they were made for each other. The cultures are very similar, the focus on commerce is almost identical, but the skillsets of the leadership and management teams are fascinatingly complementary. With this, Bloomreach customers can look forward to UI, content and support becoming infused with Exponea, further improving Bloomreach’s leadership position in the market.
Most of our partners work with Exponea because they enjoy the cooperation and know that they are delivering the best product on the market for their customers. Now, we will enable them to deliver more products (e.g. search, merchandising, and content management) that are also the leading products in the commerce market while keeping the easy-to-work-with vibe most competitors lack.
Exponea investors are receiving an amazing return on their investment and we are grateful to close this chapter with such a success story. A majority of EGPP holders have chosen to roll over their investments over to Bloomreach, which is a strong sign of commitment and belief in a great joint future.
